What's a Truffle? Urbani needed top-notch demonstrators to enlighten consumers and sample their high-end truffle & truffle-related grocery products in various stores across the country. The list of stores where demo events took place included the following: Whole Foods, Bristol Farms, Caputo's, DeCicco Family Markets, Costco, Bed Bath & Beyond, DeLaurenti's, Eataly, Fairway Market, Gourmet Garage, Garden of Eden, Kings Food Markets, Rice Epicurean, Tarry Market, Treasure Island, and WEIS Markets. Demonstrators needed to be friendly, smart, attractive, and have the wherewithal to become truffle-experts in the eyes of the consumers. Product sampling in high-end and members-only retailers brings additional restrictions and expectations on the sampling event and the conduct of demonstrators, our demonstrators were tasked with abiding by any restrictions and acting in the best interests of the client at all times.
A huge success! Urbani truffles products continue to sell-out during most demos. The main objective has been for retailers to order more inventory post-demo, and this happens consistently, with retailers requesting that we come back for more demos soon. What started with a few trial stores in 2010 has become the marketing cornerstone, Urbani continues to place product with new retailers, and increase awareness and sales.
